Dit is regtig goeie nuus dat Orania nou hul radiostasie terug het. Hulle het maar 'n opdraende stryd daar. Ek bewonder hulle. Die dorpie is egter te klein vir my.

Orania, the white Afrikaner enclave in the Northern Cape, expects to have its own radio station on the air by Saturday.

Eleanor Lombard, chairwoman of the Orania broadcasting service board, said on Thursday the Independent Communication Authority of South Africa (Icasa) awarded a community radio licence to Orania at the end of last year.

"Since then the community have been collecting money to buy equipment, get a studio furnished and train announcers and technical staff."

She said the official opening would be marked by festivities on the grounds where the radio station is located.

"The ceremony is sponsored by the Orania Business Chamber which invested hugely in the radio station."

Lombard said the radio would be manned by volunteers only with the youngest "sound engineer" being Joos Strydom, 14.

She said programmes would cover topics such as the economy, agriculture, literature and ecology, which would be presented by residents themselves.

"Local artists would also get ample opportunity to show off the talents," said Lombard.

She said Radio Orania would strive to play a positive and "unifying" role in the community.

Met die nuwe blad is dit mos moontlik met 'n pluspunt - video.
Radio kan miskien 1 keer per dag Hoofnuus "uitsaai" of 1 keer per week 'n opsomming .Podcasts is ook 'n moontlikheid wat ondersoek kan word.
Ek is Seker as ons die fynere besonderhede bespreek en uitsort kan ons dit maak werk. Met die tegnologie tot ons beskikking is dit moontlik.
