Ek was op soek na inligting oor die Afrikaner en kom toe weer op die Afrikanerlied se woorde af! Dit bly steeds vir my treffende woorde!


AFRIKANERLIED

By die ruwe Kaap van storme, waar die oseane bots
en van oos en wes die golwe worstel om hul bakenrots,
waar die maagdelike velde nog in skuwe skoonheid bloos,
dit is waar jul wieg gestaan het, stoere Afrikanerkroos,

Werk en stryd was julle erfdeel, wat die vaderland jul gee,
maar waardeur jul arm gespier is en jul hart tot staal gesmee.
So gehard en so getemper, trek hul heen oor berg en vlei,
en herskep tot tuin van Eden Afrika se woesteny,
en herskep tot tuin van Eden Afrika se woesteny.

Elke vyand moes getem word wat jul opmars wou betwis:
die natuur se wilde kragte, die barbaar se sluwe lis.
En geen mag van vreemde wapen, geen verow'raar sal jul vrees:
nimmer in 'n slaaf se boeie rus die Afrikanergees,
nimmer in 'n slaaf se boeie rus die Afrikanergees.

Voorwaarts dan, getrou en wakker, moedig, kragtig steeds vooruit!
Geen geweld, geen dwinglands woede sal jul ideale stuit.
Laat jul roep oor berge dawer, oor die vlaktes voortgedra:
Ewig hoog die vryheidsvaandel, stoere kroos van Afrika!

Toe ons gebreek was tot die been,
verwese in die smaad versteen,

 Reality Tale Part I - Fairy's not allowed!!!

 

One hundred and umptyeventeen years ago (give or take a decade or two) during colonialism and white struggle, prior to any political challenges, this country was going through the growth phases of technology and modernism. During the struggle of Boer against English Colonials, plans had been set up to make something of this country we call South Africa. At this time, most of the educated people were British, and the ignorant masses were Afrikaners who worked on farms for pittance, got mistreated by those in power and robbed by taxation and Royalties.

 

The people realised they had to do something, as this was not something the masses (funnily enough - both English and Afrikaans) enjoyed. So they looked at the bigger picture and decided that if they didn't like where their lives were, the best thing to do was leave. So they did!!! They went north to the plains where their weren't any people to bother them.

 

...and they lived quite nicely, ta!!!

 

Life was treating these "run aways" nicely - big farms, crops, animals..... Then modernisation caught up with them again, bringing new things as laws, education, technology and such. They looked at the growth of the world they left behind, and realised that this was going to consume them as well, so they planned ahead. Not planned as per masses, but by showing the integrity and intelligence of each individual household. They enforced education into their children. They instilled respect and honour into their children. They taught their children that as per the universe was concerned, they were mere dots on a large map, and to be any better they would have to strive through forward with KNOWLEDGE.

 

This they did, and in so doing opened a door for their TOTAL independance, whereby they could take over the country as their own, WITHOUT A HICCUP. Everyone was allowed education, some even in schools not suited to them, but THEY KNEW THE VALUE OF KNOWLEDGE and this slight did not hold them back!!!

 

Up to Eighteen years ago, their KNOWLEDGE became legendary all over the world - computers, medicine, surgery, problem solving (this kind of failed them in 1994), philosophy, weaponry, production, farming - geniuses to the max!!! They were sought after globally, even though there were sanctions against them.

 

Life couldn't have been better - except for the fairies.....

 

 

A Reality Tale Part II - Ferees Rool!!!

 

Umptyeventeen years ago (give or take a week or two) during the fall of colonialism and white struggling with each other, the fairies (ferees) did nothing, as they had done 33 or 100 years ago. There was the odd one who learnt NEW languages and ended up in power positions within his community. Most of the time his own people would kill him for learning new things from others. A few of them who managed to miss being killed, made a group, and decided that it would be easier to steal from their own, than to actually try and improve the situation for their masses.

 

Life was great for them then.

 

This continued until the time of this country's independence in 1961. Then they were upset, as they didn't have the knowledge to challenge the governing power. So the few thought up a rascal idea - sheer brilliance in the scope of it, but without KNOWLEDGE and FORESIGHT. They forced their young from centres of education. They taught them the arts of killing, destruction, lies, disrespect and dishonour. They built an army. They killed their own who challenged them, those who refused to hand over their wages, those who refused to do their dirty work for them. In short, those who had foresight and knowledge (however miniscule) were being murdered. Even those who spoke out against them feared them. Some looked to history and left the country.

 

Life was even better for the ferees - as they now had LOTS of money and thousands of ignorant followers....

 

Then seventeen years ago, through the failing of white problem solving (see above), these criminals were given this wonderful, serene, prosperous country - based on the fact that they claimed they had the KNOWLEDGE. Actually it was the THEN governments lack of FORESIGHT and KNOWLEDGE - but we won't tell anyone.

 

The rest of South Africa has become complete and utter proof that there is a total lack of KNOWLEDGE. This country proves "Only the brilliant don't know how brilliant they are in as much as the stupid don't know how stupid they are.". At least the clever people will admit failure and stop their idiocy, whereas the stupid will strive forth and continue in their stupid ways.

 

.....since then, only those in the original group, their wives, sons, daughters, cousins, uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews, and drinking buddies live happily......

 

.....until the scales are rebalanced!!!

 

Oh yes, a further note: Education is ONLY the tip of the proverbial KNOWLEDGE iceberg. If you do not know how to use it, its a waste of time and money AND education.

 

Foresight and conceptiualisation is the cornerstone to forward motion. If you haven't got it, education won't supply it, and you cannot steal it!!!
